European Mozart WaysCastle hotels in cooperation with Mozart ways The European Mozart Ways are an international network of cities, regions and institutions rediscovering with today's means the first true travelling musician. More than 200 locations in ten European countries "Amadé" has seen on his journeys, whether from London to Naples or from Paris to Bratislava. Mozart travelled more than half of his life. These journeys have marked him as a person and as an artist and let him become a true child of Europe far beyond his immediate or wider country regions. First Mozart's travels provide the bases for the design of tourist routes which are to stimulate the sustainable cultural tourism in the regions of the Members, on the other hand for cooperation of Members in the artistic, cultural, educational and academic fields closely connected to territorial and intrinsic context with his travels. Because of these multiple objectives the Mozart itineraries have been designated "Major Cultural Route" by the Council of Europe, and within this program they represent the only instance centred on the life and work of a musician. The discovery of European culture from the perspective of Mozart opens up unique and fascinating sights. On the one hand, we encounter in his footsteps castles and inns, churches and theatres, gardens and landscapes, whose authenticity invite for a visit. On the other hand memories and their response are preserved in Mozart's letters, as in the four languages published online database of the Italian correspondence in June 2009. Travel destinations, people and musical works can be interrogated by this almost inexhaustible resource easily. All this suggests a new interpretation of the person and the universal genius Mozart that is loved beyond all borders around the world.
