Mansions were noble residencies in the countryside, near villages, located usually on some important spot. Mansions weren`t big and they serviced their owners as a temporary residence for noble families, for example during their hunting. This is the reason, why majority of historic mansions are located within hunting grounds.
You can find this sort of historic buildings in many slovak villages. Historic mansion usually dominates a whole village and it is almost impossible to overlook it. First mansions appeared in Slovakia in 15-th century. In that time, mansions were very simple buildings, usually single storey buildings. In the following centuries, these buildings grew in their complexity and beauty as well.
