Our Castel Pension, which previously belonged to Jeszenák family, is located in Mierovo right in the middle of Žitný Island area. The building was renovated in a baroque style while fully satisfying the modern world's needs and expectations. The rooms are furnished in a delicately elegant style. The restaurant, which consists of two dining rooms available for up to sixty guests, is situated on the ground floor of the Castel. When I was attending a secondary grammar school, every day I used to travel from our village to a near town. Every time on my way to school I saw a little castle in Mierovo, which I really liked. Years passed by and I graduated with a degree in history of art and started working in a museum. One day me and my family found out that the castle in Mierovo was for sale. During our first visit, we learned that the garden wasneglected and the building looked more like a ruin, but despite of everything it still had its special magic. At last we decided to start the reconstruction. It took our family 10 years of hard work to rebuild the castle to its original condition. Now the castle is bringing usjoy and happiness and we hope that our guests feel the same way during their visit.
In the end, I would like to mention the inscription, which was written on the marble table of the entrance gate: “The castle was built as a monumentof honor, assiduity, illustrious ideas and patrician amusement.” This idea established our credo.

All the rooms and apartments in our castle were furnished in the same style, but for the guests looking for a comfort and peace we recommend our apartment on the first floor. Main characteristics of the apartment are rustic lines, fine colors, elegant – historic style of furniture, spaciousness and a garden view. The apartment is also equipped with a living room and a small office. Evening hours are filled with peace and quiet which helps you completely relax your body and mind.

History
Village Mierovo is first time mentioned in the year 1252 under the name Beke, in 1390 as Weke and in 1373 under the name Béke. In 1948 the village changed its name to Sklenárovo and finally in the year 1960 to Mierovo. Origin of the village can be dated between 10 and 12 century. Medieval history of Mierovo is closely linked to squire family Szentgyörgyi.
The local church is from the middle of 13. century and it belongs to the circle of Roman brick churches “Podunajsko” which originated under Lombard influence.
The most important turning point in the history of Mierovo happened in the 18. century when Jeszenák family took possession of the village. In the year 1746 baron Pál Jeszenák built a late baroque style castle right in the centre. Nowadays castle in Mierovo is flatted, two – aisle baroque – classicistic building, built on the square ground – plan. A new part of the castle was built on the west side at the level of both stories at the end of the 19. century. The whole building was rebuilt in classicist style at that time.
The castle used to own a lot of ground, but the original land was divided and used for an urban development. Entrance to the castle area was characterized by a monumental brick gate.
